Just TAP has been crafted specially for adult* tap dance learners, teachers and enthusiasts. We’ve set out to create the most enjoyable, convenient, clear, concise, relevant and effective introduction (or continuation!) to the art of Tap Dance possible.
*Ā Note: While the series has been created with adults in mind, Just TAP is absolutely appropriate for children, and is recommended for motivated younger learners.
Ā
A LITTLE ROOM TO MOVE AROUND
We recommend a minimum of 1m x 1m (3ft x 3ft) to move around. For traveling steps, a corridor or hallway is perfect.
A WOODEN FLOOR IS BEST (…but donāt worry if you donāt have one)
A piece of plywood will do the job, or even a plastic office floor protector is a great option that dulls the sound while still being audible to the dancer. We cover home flooring options early-on in the course.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Comfortable clothing that you can move around in.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
A willingness and determination to practice and improve over time. It doesnāt work if you donāt really want to learn. And it definitely doesnāt work if you put unrealistic expectations on yourself.
OTHER HELPFUL ITEMS TO HAVE CLOSE BY:
Ā
Nope! Not to start with. If youāve got them, great, but thereās no harm in holding off, and then making the investment once youāve given it a try. In the meantime, we recommend to wear the shoes with the hardest sole possible.

We absolutely recommend joining an in-person Tap class when you can! But there are a few significant benefits to the Just TAP video course series, and things that make it very special with our students:
1. Build confidence from home.
Even if you’re lucky enough to have a local adult Tap class at the appropriate level, jumping in can be intimidating (I’ve been there). Use the Just TAP series as a springboard; a secret weapon that will have your classmates wondering how you’re such a natural.
2. The pros of video learning.
Pause. Rewind. Slow down. Zoom in. Take the time you need without feeling rushed or pressured. Come back to the videos whenever you need a helping hand (or foot).
3. Unparalleled attention to detail.
I donāt gloss over anything, and have structured and explained the content in a way that makes sense. Just because someone can Tap Dance well does not necessarily make them a good teacher.
4. Clarity and Guidance.
Iāve made the course easy to understand and follow. You never have a chance to get lost, and never have a chance to get bored. Iām with you every step of the way, guiding you from one step to the next and encouraging you along the way. I have a soothing voice (ā¦or so Iāve been told).
5. Expertise.
Iāve lived and breathed tap for over 2 decades, and have seen this technique work thousands of times, with people all over the world. Many Tap teachers (and a few Tap rock-stars) have reached out to me over the years sharing their appreciation for the courses.
6. High value. Low cost.
Even if you are lucky enough to have a dance studio with an adult absolute beginner class in your area, most group classes are at least $20 per class (you’ll need at least 4-6 classes to cover the material in this course, if not more), with private classes anywhere from $75 to $100+ per hour.
7. No fluff.
From the start, I wanted to condense as much value and useful content as I could into this course, with zero ‘fluff’. I donāt want to waste your time (or mine), so rather than give you 30 videos to suffer through, Iāve given you 3 invaluable instructional videos (+ some nifty bonuses, including warm-ups and combinations) that cover everything you need to start your Tap journey with confidence.
8. Proven results.
It works. 5000 students and counting.
Yes! Downloadable course videos are available by request.
That said, we recommend using our interactive streaming platform whenever possible. Itās more flexible,
more efficient, and designed to support your learning.
Inside the platform, you can:
Speed up or slow down videos
Adjust video quality
Jump easily between chapters and sections
Leave comments and ask questions
Track completed lessons and see your overall progress
Itās a genuinely better experience for most students.
If youād still like a downloadable version for offline viewing, no problem at all. JustĀ drop us a message hereĀ after purchase, and weāll send you a private download link, created specifically for you.
Our video viewing platform, with the in-built ability to speed-up, slow-down, change video quality, and skip easily to different chapter points across each video. You’ll also be able to easily keep track as to what lessons have been completed, and your overall progress throughout the course. It’s intuitive and easy to navigate. We love it (and so do our students).

Whatever youād like! š
By the end of the Just TAP series, youāll feel strong, confident, and more than ready to explore your next steps in tap dance ā whether thatās performing, teaching, choreographing, improvising, or simply continuing to deepen your skills.
For many dancers, that next step is staying connected.
Ā
Inside the Taptopia Community, our All Access Pass gives you ongoing access to a growing library of tap dance classes, combinations, workshops, and creative explorations ā spanning a wide range of levels, styles, and teaching voices.

We strive to keep things clean, simple and flowing. That said, we understand it can be daunting starting something new.

We recognize the many nations and cultures that shape and contribute to
the art of tap dance, but acknowledge tap as an African-American
art-form at its roots, which directly influenced the dancers of the
āgolden eraā of Hollywood, in-turn popularizing Tap across the
world.
We also acknowledge the First Nations Peoples of Australia - the
traditional owners of the land on which we join you from - and pay
respects to their elders, past and present.
